I lost my title!

No worries! Can't find the title for your property? You've looked everywhere - searched under every bed, every mattress, every table, but it's nowhere to be found? ? Worry not, Let's talk legal is here!
First and foremost, it is not the end of the world. After all, we're all human. Secondly, there's always a way to fix everything. So this too can be fixed.
How? A Lost Title application to the National Land Agency. While I cannot promise that this won't take much time, I can say it can be done.
A lost title application is, as its name suggests, an application made because you lost your title. This includes instances where the Original Duplicate Certificate of Title is lost, was stolen, or was burnt in a fire.
This application would need information from you, the applicant, as to how this title was lost/stolen/burnt. This includes any evidence which would prove this, such as a police report or fire report. If you have a photocopy of the title, this would also be helpful.
Once the application with all supporting documents are completed, they should be submitted to your Attorney, along with your Titles office fee and legal fees. Your Attorney will then have a duty to submit your application along with all the necessary documents to the NLA.
Once this is done, your file is then submitted for vetting purposes. In the event, more information is needed, it will be requested. If everything is in order, then it will be provisionally approved and instructions to advertise issued. Once these instructions are followed and proof submitted to the titles office, then you will be in a position to obtain your original duplicate certificate of Title.
